Celebrating and Investing in Every Child

Jen Myers
Assistant Director

Welcome!

Our Pre-K program focuses on helping your student get ready for school in a Christ focused environment, where they earn to love others and love God. Our Pre-K teachers love and invest in each child, so he/she feels accepted and welcomed into this new transition and being away from home.

Every teacher and aide knows each child is a unique individual and encourages progress at his or her own rate of development. We focus on hands-on learning that takes place through guided discovery and instructional activities.

Preparing your child for Kindergarten can be a wonderful experience, filled with fun and play as he/she grows in their love for God and others.

What impressed us most were the teachers. Every day these children are loved, celebrated, and truly invested in. These spiritual women of God live out their faith and we were blessed for our daughter to be loved on like that.

Early Childhood Education

Classes utilize play exercises that teach and reinforce spiritual, academic, and social concepts. All teachers and aides hold degrees in education and use their knowledge and experience to create a developmentally appropriate environment for their young learners.

Through games, centers, lessons, and other activities, teachers are able to focus on the class as a whole, as well as focus on individual students, to make sure each child feels successful and confident so they can successfully transition to kindergarten.

Spiritual Growth

Learning to love others and love God is the heart of every child’s school day. Our foundation is in Christ and each student participates in chapel and bible lessons daily, learning what it means to follow God.

While Harding Academy is affiliated with the church of Christ, the Academy is not only for members of the church of Christ. We hold firm to biblical principles and a love for Christ, and all are welcomed. A code of conduct is enforced for our students, which is to help us uphold our mission as well as to aid in our students’ safety.

Community

Our Pre-K program introduces students to the Academy experience where they are quickly integrated into the entire school.

Students participate in elementary chapel every day and receive instruction from the school’s art, music, library, technology, and physical education faculty. We also focus on mentorship through partnering with high school seniors, attending pep rallies, visiting with Harding University football players through Bison Buddies, and making trips to area senior centers.

We want our students to know that being in a community is about more than just having their needs met; its about being active and involved in a larger community, and learning to love and care for others as God calls us to do.
